DR. ALIYU TILDE: A LIABILITY TO GOV. BALA MUHAMMAD’S ADMINISTRATION

DR. ALIYU TILDE: A LIABILITY TO GOV. BALA MUHAMMAD’S ADMINISTRATION

Part I- A Regional Jingoist

On 4th November, Dr. Aliyu Tilde the Present Commissioner of Education in Bauchi state made a startling post via his Facebook account, titled: ACCOMODATING NEW FEDERAL INSTITUTIONS IN BAUCHI STATE. The post was a response to another online statement by a former HOR Member from Katagum federal constituency who requested Bauchi state government to expedite the allocation of land for the new federal institutions. However, instead of Tilde to only respond to the request by the said politician, or “let his loose cannon” towards that particular politician, he made a sweep generalization against Katagum people by whipping up a regional sentiment of “Bauchi-Katagum dichotomy”, an old political rift among some power players in the second republic from Bauchi and Katagum zones, which most of our present-day youths in Bauchi state have no idea about.

Sadly, Tilde is inclined to resurrecting that deadly monster. On this note, I want notify Tilde that, we are not going to allow him to achieve his goal, but no legitimate son can bear verbal assault against his people.

In his write-up Tilde stereotyped the entire people of Katagum. You do not need to read between the lines to see how he described the Katagum people as backward, disunited without leadership, anti-progress of the state, and people who are against the Administration of Gov. Bala Muhammad. He even referred the PM of Education Ministry as ‘Their son’ (Son of Katagum people). SMH

The concern expressed by many about Tildes heinous agenda of deeply disuniting the good people of Bauchi state, is that he did not launch his campaign as an individual villager from Tilde, or a ‘potato cooker’. No, he claimed to have expressed the position of Bauchi state government, in his capacity as education commissioner.

If anybody will be accused of whipping a regional sentiment, certainly NOT Gov. Bala Muhammad, who is devoid of any form of segregation sentiment and embraces everyone in the state as his own. It was Gov. Muhammad who removed his Chief of Staff, someone from Bauchi zone and replaced him with someone from Katagum zone. A regional jingoist like Tilde, will never do that. What baffles many people is, Tilde is doing everything in his own capacity to destroy the image of the administration he ‘serves’. Therefore, His Excellency Gov. Muhammad, SHOULD NOT ALLOW his administration to be an instrument of disunity in the state.

The seed of hatred planted by Tilde, has already germinated and started producing fruits, bitter fruits of course. As one coward former house of assembly member, who is educationally challenged, certified thug, political harlot, known for jumping from one political god-father to another in frantic search of what to eat, came out openly and ignorantly insulted the entire people of Katagum, including our late fathers of the land like Alhaji Aminu Saleh, May Allah have mercy on him. Although he could not post it on his wall, but cowardly draft and gave it to his errand boys to do his bidding, without being considerate to many friends and political allies he has from Katagum. SMH. Kauyanci bai yi ba.

It was Tilde who paved the way to open this can of worms. And many of such abuses are already flying online.

Tildes failure as education commissioner of Bauchi state is another pointer of him being a LIABILITY to administration of Gov. Bala Muhammad. He failed in his task woefully. I will use his own words to judge him.

In July, 2019 shortly after he was appointed a commissioner, he said in a radio live transmission interview that 97% of primary school children cannot read and write. Therefore, he declared, IF GOVERNOR KAURA SUPPORTED HIS PLANS by July 2020 every child in primary school can read and write, otherwise he should be questioned as a failed commissioner. Now the question is:

Can every primary school pupil in Bauchi state read and write?

The answer is certainly NO, then who failed? It is now left for Tilde to answer, whether he has failed, or will he blame Gov. Bala for not  'supporting' his plans, implying that it was the governor who failed. Part two of this series, will discuss the catastrophic approach of Tilde, in the ministry of education. Insha Allah.

Another aspect he dwelled in his story telling, Tilde practically displayed his envy towards Hon. Minister, Malam Adamu Adamu, and Prof. Bogoro of TETFUND. On the Minister, maybe because they were both members of TBO (The Buhari Organization) a political campaign platform of President Buhari, or because they were both columnists in Daily Trust Newspaper, why would Buhari prefer Malam Adamu against himself for the position of minister? Perhaps, President Buhari knows that Tilde is a small-minded person who will be promoting trivial issues, that’s why he treated him as just gardener, to landscape his Kaduna residence from time-to-time, and Malam Adamu as minister.

Prof. Bogoro with all his contribution to Education in Bauchi state, even the most illiterate person in Bauchi state can testify that Bogoro has done a lot, let alone Education Commissioner. But Tilde, choses to mock Bogoros efforts, by calling him some undeserving names.

His Excellency may not be aware of this development, but it is pertinent to realize the dangers in Tildes remark, and order for a redress.

I thought some elders from the state, both Katagum and Bauchi will cautioned Tilde of the implication of his outburst, but I realized the elders particularly from Katagum have chosen a position of high ground, and dismiss the situation as petty. That is why I chose to put his pettiness in the right perspective.

I appeal to the administration of His Excellency, Gov. Bala Muhammad, as well as the leadership of BAHA, to address Tilde and caution him to watch his utterances if he wants remain in the payroll.

As I said earlier, most of nowadays youths in Bauchi are committed to a united Bauchi state. Many of our contemporaries across the whole 20 LGAs have invested heavily in the project to make sure the jahiliyya period of that dichotomy never returns. Most of my online and offline friends are not from Katagum. Despite being born in Azare I spent most part of my life in Bauchi town not Azare. I attended Shekal Primary school Bauchi, ATBU Bauchi, I work in Bauchi town, I married from Bauchi town, my children school in Bauchi, many of my brothers and sisters live in Bauchi. For Allah’s sake, what reason do I have to prefer any progress in Katagum and not Bauchi? I and many of my contemporaries consider every part of Bauchi as the same. Preference should be based on deservedness.
