Every April 22, people around the world celebrate Earth Day, a day to raise awareness about environmental issues and to appreciate the natural world. Earth Day was first observed in the United States in 1970. It was a day of protest for better environmental protections. In the era of climate change, the words of present-day and historic environmental activists are more important than ever.
The theme for Earth Day 2022 is _“Invest In Our Planet.”_ The key point here is to act in a bold way, innovate in a broad way, and implement in an equitable manner.
*Hon. Mohammed Aliyu Baba* gives a goodwill message to the people of Gombe Central Senatorial District on the *International Earth Day.* He said; _planting trees is the best way of spreading love, prosperity and harmony. Let us all work together to take care of Mother Earth with lots of love._
However, the *Dan Amar of Deba* has called on the people of his constituency to adopt the attitude of planting trees at least once in a year. He continues; the important of planting trees in our environs can not be over emphasize. When it comes to fighting global warming, trees have emerged as one of the most popular weapons. Beside it's enormous benefits to the environment, trees also possesses the great socioeconomics value. In addition, planting a tree is an act of ongoing charity according to Islamic faith.
