ONLY A FOOL BITE THE HANDS THAT FEED.
Members of ASUU, like every other human, have their basic necessities and a family under their stewardship. As a Nigerian or a Nigerian student, You lack a heart as your insensitivity is second to none if you have the guts to blame ASUU for fighting for their rights and yours as well, while you continue to spit on their faces. Absurd as it is!
Their salary came to a halt for almost 8 months. Should they feed sand to their family? How do they afford their basic necessities? Someone who made such sacrifices to better your life and that of the unborn generation should have all the needed support, prayer and appreciation from you. Little did we know that if ASUU want it this way, they'll call off the strike and will continue to receive their salaries while our school buildings and furnitures remain ramshackle, the education sector in shambles and we're at the receiving end. Now tell me, are we not biting the hands that feeds?
Nature has it that calling a spade a gardening tool is a sin to the moral law. This administration has woefully failed to fulfill it's solemn promises. I don't need to convince any individual who is right in the head as the situation the country found itself in is convincing enough.
I'm a Nigerian undergraduate student. I know how it feels to sit on the bare floor and receive lectures for over a span of four hours because there are no enough seats. I know how it feels to sit under an overcrowded roof with the capacity of accommodating hundreds people yet a number close to thousand are filled in. Just imagine how ventilation will be inadequate under such roof.
Above all, I was charged the top whack as tuition fee. If someone could help me feel this pain, give me a reason not to pledge my allegiance to them.
If this strike were to last for a decade span, I won't have ASUU blamed as they've already pinpoint the aspects most in need of help while the government is pushing forth further abeyance. If we can spend ₦37billion billion to renovate an already renovated complex, earmark a whooping ₦380 billion for prosecution of BH suspects out of a budget of ₦7.89 trillion and cannot spend just ₦30 billion on our entire education sector, i need not to render an apology for calling our state a focusless one.
Our generation and posterity will remember ASUU as a union that fought with messianic fervour. The believe that this cause will surely better the education sector is deeply ingrained in me.
ALUTA CONTINUA!
